Challace McMillin was the foundational head coach of the James Madison University (JMU) football program, leading the team from its inception in 1972 until 1984. With a record of 67–60–2, McMillin was not only instrumental in establishing JMU’s football team but also significantly contributed to its early success and growth. Notably, under his guidance, the JMU football program achieved its only unbeaten season in 1975 with a 9-0-1 record.
